Where to Start...

So I haven't posted in awhile and I don't really have an excuse except I've been super lazy. I get the basics done and really haven't made time to do other things so here I am and here is your new post. The title is where to start and I guess we'll start with CHRISTMAS. This year we sent Christmas in Maryland with my family and had a blast! Its most likely one of the last times we'll get to go to Maryland as a family and especially for Christmas, it kinda sucks growing up. Anyway we flew out Christmas Eve a day I totally recommend flying on because our tickets were cheap and there was no one flying that day. Savannah was not as fun to fly with but she did really well overall and really only had like one outburst on our flight from Salt Lake to Baltimore. In all honestly though I totally don't blame her, its like a 4 1/2 hour flight and you can't run around. Here she is chilling with dad, they were quite the little flying buddies.

I think she's watching one of her Little Einstein DVD's. Anyway the next day was of course Christmas and Savannah looked oh so cute in her Christmas pj's complete with runny nose because on the way out to Maryland she got 2 molars in. Savannah got some fun presents and loved to start unwrapping her presents. Getting them open all the way open didn't seem to concern her as long as she started to open them. It was pretty cute and it already got me excited for Christmas next year. We gave my family a joint gift this year which they are still pretty excited about. We ended up giving them a framed picture of our first ultrasound of baby number 2. That's right were having another baby! I'll write more about this in a bit after I finish up our Maryland trip. So my dad's family all came over for Christmas dinner and also loved the present we gave my family. They of course also loved seeing Savannah since it had been about 10 months since they saw her last. It was just way fun to see everyone and spend time together. Then the next day was my BIRTHDAY! ( I wanted a hot pink color but it was not a choice.)

My mom was a sweet heart and got me a cake and made me a yummy dinner which to be quite honest I already forgot...NO I didn't we had steaks and huge shrimp with mashed potatoes and it was fantastic! I really do love spending my birthday with my family it always makes the day seem more special. Anyway the remainder of our trip we did lots of other fun stuff which included but was not limited to shopping, bowling, movies, watching Glee, playing games, hanging out with lots of family, going to the Air and Space Museum at Dulles Airport, and going out to eat. See lots of fun stuff!
So now that were back in Idaho what has been going on you ask...well nothing special really. We ended up taking out cats to a shelter because they were peeing on our stuff and I just couldn't take it anymore. I was practically sobbing when I had to hand them over, it was just totally depressing so I'm done with that topic. I got to see my new nephew Tucker who is a doll, I hope I spelled his name right...anyway what else? Well yesterday was eventful, I had my second doctors appointment and everything is going great, I'm 12 weeks along today and I'm due on August 6. Oh so yeah at my appointment I also got to hear the heart beat for the fist time which besides the big ultrasound where you find out what your having because I totally have to know what I'm having hearing the heart beat for the first time is totally my favorite. So after I got home and Savannah finally woke up Jacob turned her crib into a big girl bed! I know its sad she's only 16 months and already in a little toddler bed but the girl is a monkey. It was inevitable that I would either have her knocking at her door to get out or be sitting on top of her changing table. I haven't seen her so excited though in quite some time, she was freaking out when she saw her bed and loved showing it off to her Aunt Sarah and Ryan. Sleeping in it is taking some getting used to but we'll get there. Anyway those are the latest happenings at the Jefferies house and I'll do better at keeping you all updated promise promise.

Too Good To Wait

So I have tons to write about but its all going to have to wait. I just wanted to make a quick post to tell you of the sweetest thing Savannah did last night that brought tears to my eyes. So we are enjoying a wonderful family vacation in Maryland right now and my family has been sweet to participate in our bedtime rituals with Savannah. Every night she takes a bath and then we say family prayer before story time. Now we have family prayer first because we sing the family prayer song which involves swinging our arms and this is just not conducive to going to bed so we calm down with stories. Now, Savannah is very good about folding her arms and bowing her head but last night there was an added first...she knelt down all by herself like the rest of us. I had tears in my eyes during the whole prayer and was just so proud of my little girl for being on her knees to say a prayer and to be quite during it. It amazes me how much children can learn and what they are capable of. I am so grateful for Savannah and all that she teaches me, it is such a blessing to be her mother.
