Fun Times Mixed In With The Crazy

I miss these days, when we could lay around and watch movies or just hang out around the house. Its a rare thing if we stay home all day besides taking dinner to Jacob each night and its exhausting. The sad thing is I see no end in sight and in all actuality our lives are only going to get busier and busier. Since I wrote last we've had house guests and lots of happenings with the girls so sit back and relax because here is an update on this past month at our house.
We ended January by the girls and I making a day trip to Phoenix to have Olivia's neurology appointment at Phoenix's Children's Hospital. It was the fist time I'd ventured into Phoenix without Jacob and I won't lie I was a tad nervous. The drive alone is about 1 1/2 hours one way and it of course decided it would rain that day which was not fun. The girls did great on the drive as usual and we made it to Olivia's appointment just fine thanks to map quest. I loved Olivia's new neurologist and we had a really good appointment, the biggest thing was we decided it was time for Olivia to have an MRI to see exactly how much brain damage she suffered from her stroke and to make sure there aren't' any other things going on that we've missed. We're still in the process of getting that set up but hopefully it will happen within the next few months. Olivia is also still going to physical therapy twice a week and she is always improving her skills, she's become a bit of a stinker more often at her appointments but she's also 2 1/2 so what do we expect really. We also finally got hooked up with the Early Childhood Intervention Program here in our area and we had our fist interview with them on Friday. It went really well and made me so excited for all the additional services that are offered that we might be able to participate in. On Tuesday Olivia has her assessment and I am just so excited for it so we can start getting to work. We also set up an evaluation for Olivia at one of the local preschools that works with the Early Childhood Intervention Program so see is she would qualify to be in their preschool program and receive occupational, speech, and physical therapy while attending preschool. If she qualifies then this coming August she'll be able to start preschool which is crazy!!! So far I've been much happier with the programs that we've been set up with here and I'm beyond pleased with the care Olivia has been receiving. Savannah also has exciting things happening for her but the most exciting new thing is on Tuesday she gets to start preschool! When we first moved here we were looking to have her start but it just didn't work out and we just planned on enrolling her in preschool this coming August to have her start at the beginning of the school year. Well my mom was here the past week and she said we should go ahead and enroll her now if we could because she and my dad were planning to help with preschool costs. To hear her say that was such a huge blessing because preschool is just expensive and being on a college students budget while raising kids is definitely challenging. Plus Savannah just really needs to be in school, she wants to go so bad and this way I can have Olivia's appointments while Savannah is in school so I'm not always having to try and find a sitter for Savannah.
Now like I said things have been crazy but we've had some fun times too like having two sets of visitors come! First we had Jacob's parents and his youngest brother Scott come down for a visit one weekend. We had some really nice weather while they were here so one day Jacob's mom and I took the girls to the local zoo we have here in Prescott. It was a great little outing and perfect for a quick afternoon trip. Its a pretty small zoo but the girls still had a blast looking at all the animals and running around.
(A fun thing we happened to be there for was feeding the deer so the girls and I got to feed them lettuce.)

We also headed down to Casa Grande to spend more time with Jacob's parents and Scott at Jacob's other brother's house. Then this past week my mom flew in from Maryland to visit us and it was so fun for us. We had fun just hanging out, going to lunch, playing with the girls, and just spending time together. Sadly I didn't take any pictures of her with the girls while she was here, oh well:( Her flight left earlier then I wanted to drive to Phoenix so she took the shuttle down to the airport, when it drove away both the girls started crying in their car seats. It was pretty sad and I too had to fight back some tears. Its already felt lonelier at the house without her here. This past month has gone by so fast and more exciting things are coming up in March too but you'll just have to wait a bit longer for those fun updates.
