Mother's Day 2011

You know I'm going to be honest...I don't always like being a mom. Shocker huh? As a whole I love being a mom but sometimes when I'm in the moment I think to myself what was I thinking wanting to have kids?! They can be so frustrating, stubborn, unreasonable, exhausting, time consuming, and so many more things. But then you have moments where they are so loving, tender, silly, forgiving, sweet, and just plain perfect. I have always wanted to be a mother which I think I've mentioned before on here. I love having this job and it is a full time job believe you me.
I love how Savannah likes to read us stories. How she'll randomly break out into song and start twirling around the house. I love how she will go into my closet, put on a pair of my shoes, one of my shirts and then proceed to put on any jewelry she can find. Where she will then come out into the living room proclaiming how beautiful she looks. I love when she holds my hand and tells me how much she loves me. I love when she says she wants to snuggle, or asks us to lay down with her at night. I love when I hear her pray and how excited she gets when its time to read the scriptures or is she sees a picture of Jesus. I love her outgoing personality and her determination.
I love how Olivia is very much the opposite of Savannah. I love how she does things in her own time. I love how content she is. I love her beautiful blue eyes. I love her throaty laugh and how she waves with such excitement. I love how when I hold her she grabs on to my shirt and lays her head on my shoulder. I love how when she cries I don't get annoyed because it just sounds so pathetic I just want to grab her up in my arms and make everything better. I love how she looks when she's asleep, so peaceful and beautiful. I love how excited she already gets about things just like I do.
I love both these girls so very much and I love that I am able to be their mother and I only hope that I do a good enough job more times then I do a bad job. Here are some of my most favorite pictures of the girls so far, I hope you like them as much as I do. Oh and my biggest mistake in making this video is that I put Olivia being born in June...her birthday is July.

Time Out

So I decided to take a time out from packing and painting. This week I've packed up the girls rooms and a good portion of our room and painted the girls new bathroom. So my time out is a project, I know it might not sound like a break to some of you but for me it is. I inherited a coffee table a few months ago because I knew I could find some use for it. I finally decided that I really wanted to make it into a bench but so far its just been sitting in my garage for like 5 months. So this week I decided to start working on it! I have a basic idea in my head where things are going to go in the new house and I finally decided that my bench would end up in Olivia's room. I picked out a pale yellow to paint the table (I used golden maize spray paint from Lowe's) and some super fun fabric to cover it with. The paining has gone great and I'm actually all finished which is nice. Now all I have left is to get a pad to put on top of the table and I actually need new fabric. I know I said I got some really cute fabric the other day but I didn't get enough! I now bummer but now I can use that for pillows which I'm really excited about and I'll just go get some more fabric and enough of it this time to cover the bench. I think its going to look great when I'm done and I'll totally share pictures with you when all is said and done.
