Happy Birthday!

Now don't freak out, you didn't miss any of our birthday's, I'll probably put a count down ticker up for those because I'll be so excited. Anyway, it's my niece Alisha's birthday this Saturday and she's turning 4, its all very exciting. When I asked her what she wanted for her birthday she sat down beside me and in a very serious tone started to tell me that when she played dress up she didn't have any princess crowns. It was just the saddest thing I had ever heard. So right then and there I decided I was going to make Alisha some princess crowns for dress up and here are finished products...

So I was lucky and found these foam cut outs in a crown shape at Micheal's and then bought all the embellishments and there you go, two dress up princess crowns. Now while at the store I also saw something else pretty fun so Alisha is also getting some fun sunglasses too.
For those of you who may know Alisha, I'm thinking she's going to like these and this project has inspired me to make Savannah a princess crown for her birthday in September.

Daddy's little girl.

Jacob always says how Savannah never snuggles with him and she always wants me. I know its a total lie because its obvious how much she adores Jacob even though its also true that I'm her favorite for now. The key word there is "now", I'm well aware that one day Savannah will be a full on daddy's girl and here is my proof. It really was pretty cute to just see the two of them sitting together on the sofa while I was working on some things. Typically were chasing her down the hall or trying to figure out where her new hiding spot is (her last one was between the sofa and wall, it took Jacob awhile to find her back there). To say the least this is a rare moment when she's actually content to be still and relax. Plus it made Jacob pretty happy that Savannah would sit and snuggle with him for a bit.

A few firsts...

So I've experienced a few firsts this weekend. The weather has been gorgeous which isn't a first but it has been some time since we've had nice weather. Since the weather has been so nice Jacob and I have been out in the yard actually taking care of it. This is a first, now we mow the lawn and I attempt to kill weeds. I say attempt because yes I am sucessful at killing them but then I usually kill the grass around them as well. This is accomplished because I have either not diluted the weed killer by using it with the hose like I'm suppose to, or by buying weed killer that also kills grass. Needless to say when we bought weed killer this time Jacob is making sure I'm supervised when I use it. We also did some landscaping which is a first, we took out some shrubs that came with the house that we HATED and rearranged ones we already had AND got some new ones. I must say our yard looks beautiful front and back and I'm very excited.

We also had Stake Conference this weekend so for the Sunday morning meeting we were encouraged to walk to the Stake Center if it wasn't too far. It was about a 30 minute walk for us and it was wonderful, Savannah loves going for walks in the stroller and even slept most of the way home. So what was the "first" with this activity? I'll tell you, I was pooped on by a bird! Yes, its true I could still see the house when it happened. I thought someone's sprinkler had gotten my glasses wet until I took them off and saw what was on them. Oh yes and I got some on the side of my face too. I cleaned off my face and glasses and we continued out walk except I was terrified I would be hit again. That was a first I could have done without. Overall though its been a wonderful weekend and I really hope this nice weather continues.

So tender

I just wanted to post a quick note because the sweetest thing happened yesterday. First I must start with a big thank you to my wonderful family who have been watching Savannah for me the days I have to work. It is such a blessing to have Savannah watched by loving family members then to take her somewhere else. It is such a comfort to know she is being watched by people who love and adore her. Now to what happened, I was dropping Savannah off at Jeni's yesterday morning and Savannah was so excited when we got there. She was smiling and giggling and just as happy as could be. So after I tell Jeni the routine I give one last hug and hand Savannah over. As I'm walking away I wave goodbye and Savannah waves back at me! She has only done this once before, and not to me. My heart almost melted and this small act of Savannah waving goodbye totally made my whole day. I know I've told people before that it really doesn't take much to make me happy and its true, because this small gesture meant the world to me.

A few of my favorite things...

I love Easter. Its as simple as that, and I love it for a few different reasons. To me once Easter comes it is officially Spring. Now I know technically its already Spring but it seriously doesn't feel like it. Once Easter has come the flowers are finally starting to bloom and the weather is finally starting to get warmer. I also love Easter because of the candy and you get and the present you get in your Easter basket. Now this year we skipped Easter baskets but I could not resist getting Savannah a little something that she was in need of.
Now isn't that the cutest thing ever?! I totally think she looks like a bug but a super cute bug. Now this isn't an unnecessary purchase and I'll explain why... you see Jacob and I have been taking Savannah for walks and the sun is always in her eyes hence she needed sunglasses. Also since this was Savannah's first Easter she got to go on her first Easter egg hunt and it was kind of sunny outside so it was a perfect opportunity to use her new sun glasses.
I did have to take this little egg away from her though after she got it, it was a bit too small and the whole thing could fit in her mouth (she got her moms big mouth). Anyway this resembled a chocking hazard a little too much so she got to play with a bigger egg that she couldn't fit in her mouth. Now I think these are all good reason's to love Easter but what is my favorite you may be asking yourself? I love Easter because it is the day our Savior Jesus Christ was Resurrected. What a wonderful gift he gave us to have everlasting life and the gift of the Atonement. I know I don't fully understand the Atonement and all that it can do for me but I do know that I love the peace it brings me and I love learning how it applies to every part of my life. To say the least it has been a pretty good weekend, it went by fast but was good overall.

Its true!

You may be asking what is true?! In all honesty lots of things are. The sky is blue, the sun rises in the east and sets in the west, I hate coconut, Jacob snores on his back, but what do you ask do I think is true? I think Savannah is the cutest baby ever and here is my proof. I know every mom thinks that their baby is the cutest but after you see these pics you'll agree with me, promise promise!

Here is Savannah playing in her Grandpa's 46 Ford pickup.

Here we are walking around in the back yard, this was her first experience with grass.
This is in the foyer at my parents house.

Here she is crawling on Grandma and Grandpa's bed.

Here is her wide eyed questioning look, she does this one a lot.

See I told you, its true! Savannah is the cutest little girl ever. I must also say its true that my mom is an amazing photographer since she took these pictures plus the other 134 that I have on a disc. It makes me so grateful that I have these amazing pictures to document Savannah growing up and to capture all the fun moments with her.

Jacob's project

So this morning has been good...Savannah is feeling better, she had been a bit under the weather the last two days. I didn't have to go to a work meeting this morning, always nice. Savannah let me sleep in till 7:40, very appreciated since she woke me up at 12:15, 2:30, 3:20, and 6:20. I'm hoping now that she's feeling even better that won't happen again tonight. We played for a bit and then had breakfast which she inhaled, she's such a good eater. Then it was time to get dressed! I love picking out outfits for Savannah, it really is one of my favorite things. So our getting dressed routine is after we eat breakfast we get cleaned up and then head for Savannah's room. I put her in her crib and let her play around while I agonize about what outfit she'll look cutest in that day. You think I'm joking but I'm really not, although I may not actually agonize I do put a lot of thought into it and sometimes I have to change her clothes a couple times because I don't' like the outfit once I actually see her in it. Jacob thinks I'm ridiculous but I don't care. So this was a typical morning, Savannah laying in her crib listening to her crib toy play music and me looking through her closet to see what I would put her in. I couldn't find a pair of pants I was looking for so I dashed out of her room to look in the laundry room and when I came back this is what I saw! My little girl kneeling in her crib, now when I left the room she was lying on her back and for those of you who know my house it doesn't take long to get to my laundry room from Savannah's. Its just down the hall, she's fast to say the least. So the best part is that when I
came back into her room she had her ear up to her toy and was trying to figure out why it had stopped playing music. When she was climbing up she must have hit the play button on the bottom of the toy and turned it off. When she realized I was in the room she just looked up at me with this questioning look like why did it stop mom, why? She's growing up so fast it makes me scared to even blink because it happens so fast and I don't want to miss a thing. Also if you haven't figured out what Jacob's project is yet...its lowering the mattress in Savannah's crib when he gets home from work today.
