Don't you just love grandma's! My mom has been staying with us since the 30th of July and she'll be leaving this Saturday so I've been totally spoiled to have her here for 2 weeks. I've decided I just don't know what I'll do once she's gone as well because I've totally appreciated her help and needed it. I know I'm totally capable of handling 2 kids but I'll be honest its freakin awesome to have someone around to help all the time. My mom and I have pretty much always gotten along, of course there were the trying teenage years but I'll be honest in saying I don't ever remember having an "I hate my mom" period of my life. I think of my mom as one of my best friends, someone who I can always be myself around and who I know will always love me and have my best interest at heart. I mean after all she's my mom and I know she feels this way because that's how I feel towards my own daughters. I've loved having her here and whenever I think of her leaving I get teary eyed so I need to stop thinking about it. I love how life works, I mean the whole growing process. How we start out so helpless, how we are dependent on others to care for us. How we grow and learn more and more and become more self reliant. Then one day we become parents and we finally understand what our parents went through and how much they truly love us. I never fully understood that until I became a parent. Then one day we'll be grandparents and we'll watch our children as they gain that same understanding and have that same love for their children. I love the family unit and everything it teaches us. I love my family and everything they do for me and for the examples they are to me.
Here is a picture of my mom with the girls, I love that my mom was willing to come out here to be with us and to help me, especially with Savannah. She has loved having so much attention from her grandma and I've loved watching them spend time together. I hope that I can be as good of a mom to my children as my mom was to me. I think I'm on my way though because people who know my mom say I'm just like her which is one of my favorite things to hear.
Well I've been pretty pleased to be here and help out. I'm lucky to have such a wonderful daughter like Jillian and two beautiful granddaughters also! Jillian was always a good daughter and continues to impress me and be a good wife, daughter, friend and mother herself.
