Thanksgiving 2012

Thanksgiving felt a bit different this year because it was the first time any of us have ever celebrated this holiday in warm weather. We headed 2 hours south to Jacob's brother's for Thanksgiving (its nice having family here in Arizona too) and enjoyed Thanksgiving in 75 degree weather. The kids got along so well and had a blast playing together the 2 1/2 days we were there. The girls loved playing outside on the swings, my brother and sister-in-laws backyard isn't finished yet but the kids could have cared less. They played in the dirt and built towers and anything else they could think of.

Thanksgiving was nice and low key, just the way I like it. My sister-in-law had everything we needed to eat so I helped here and there to get stuff ready. It was so fun staying with them and getting to know them a bit better. In the almost 7 years Jacob and I have been married we've never lived close to Jeff and Anne so it was fun to finally get to know them and their crazy adorable kids. After stuffing ourselves we all just hung out, some of the kids took naps while others played and it was the same for the adults. On Friday we decided to go on an outing to the Phoenix Zoo, it was so fun! The Phoenix Zoo is ranked one of the top 5 zoos in the country and I could see why. There exhibits were really cool and we ended up staying for 4 hours without seeing everything.

The day we ended up going to the zoo it was 80 degrees in Phoenix and Jacob and I were wishing we were in shorts by the end of the day. After the zoo we decided to be brave and take all 7 kids out to lunch/dinner, it ended up going really well much to our surprise. After we ate we all headed our separate ways and we started making the drive back up to Prescott. It really was a great trip and we all had so much fun, we can't wait to go visit Jeff's family again and the girls keep asking me when we're going back to the zoo. Overall I'd say our Thanksgiving was pretty much perfect.
