My Kind of Winter

Today has been a BEAUTIFUL day! I can totally get used to my winters being like this, our high for today is 62 and tomorrow we're suppose to get up to 65. Needless to say I'm loving it. I have never been a fan of cold weather or snow so 62 degree's in January is my kind of weather. We have had some cold weather and I did get to wear my cute winter clothes but I'm ready to move on to warmer weather. Today the girls have been fantastically well behaved which is something they have been struggling with a lot lately especially Savannah. At least twice a week Olivia goes to physical therapy and a good portion of the time I take Savannah. Its really hard on her to go because she has to sit by herself in the waiting room with whatever toys we bring for her and she can see and hear everything Olivia is doing. All the attention Olivia gets is really hard on Savannah because she is a child that needs attention. I made a deal with her today and if she was on her best behavior we could get a toy while we were grocery shopping. Well she was the best she has ever been and I held up my end of the bargain since she did. Savannah decided on a bubble gun (one of the best inventions ever!) and Olivia asked for sidewalk chalk. They picked perfect things for such a perfect day. Once we got home and unloaded our groceries we headed outside to play and had so much fun. We had been trapped indoors way too long. Savannah loves her bubble gun and we have tons of bubbles to refill her gun with so it'll be a perfect toy.
Savannah and I also wrote a note for Jacob on the driveway, it says "I'm so glad when daddy comes home!" that's a song Olivia loves for Jacob to sing her every night before bed. Savannah took it upon herself to color in the heart that we drew after the saying.

With Savannah occupied with coloring Olivia finally got a chance to play with the bubble gun and once she had it she didn't want to give it up.
Hence she ended up hiding on the side of the house so Savannah hopefully wouldn't take it away from her. Silly girl.

Christmas 2012

So I have been totally neglecting this poor blog of mine for quite some time and I realized I never wrote anything about how our Christmas went! What's up with that? We had a super low key Christmas this year which was perfect for our family. This is the first year that we've ever spent Christmas together just our family with no extended family. I think I was always nervous that it wouldn't really feel like Christmas if we weren't with one of our families but it totally did and it didn't hurt that the girls totally understood what Christmas was all about and were full of excitement. I'm lame and these are the only two pictures I took and you can't even see Savannah's face. Another funny fact is that both girls are posing with the other's present. This year Santa brought Savannah a pink scooter that she is in LOVE with and he brought Olivia a basketball hoop. The funniest part about Christmas was Jacob and I both woke up at 6:30 to what sounded like a kid in the front room. I was too lazy and made Jacob go check it out, sure enough miss Olivia was out front playing with her basketball hoop. She was devastated when Jacob tried to bring her in bed with us so she and I laid on the sofa watching Curious George until Savannah woke up. I made delicious homemade cinnamon rolls for breakfast and we were mean and made the girls eat breakfast before they could open any presents. We spent the rest of the day playing with all our new toys and having fun as a family. I made a yummy if I do say so myself dinner. We had the basics, ham, mashed potatoes, rolls, salad, some veggie and I made a yummy pomegranate pie. It was a great day and we all had a blast.
