A Day in the Life of ME!

I know you all are dying to find out how I spend my time, the real reason I decided to write this post is because I wanted to copy someone. I read a friends blog and she recently posted how she spends her day to make time to do the things that are important to her. She mentioned how we all have different interest and we all schedule our time differently to make time for what is most important to us. I decided that I too wanted to know how I really spend my time, I mentioned this to a few friends and then they commented how they wanted to know what I did too. Hence this blog post was born so if you have no interest in how I spend my day you can just stop reading now.

7am-8am: Wake up, take shower, put on make-up and do hair, get dressed, eat breakfast. (Now Savannah and Olivia both decided to sleep in this day so I took my sweet time getting ready because this is not typical.)

 8am-8:30am:  Savannah woke up, gave her breakfast and turned on Curious George. I read a blog entry, checked Facebook, my email, and Pinterest.

8:30am:  Put away dishes in sink, cleaned up Savannah's breakfast, put last load of laundry in dryer and put washing machine on clean cycle. Olivia woke up and gave her breakfast, also set up visiting teaching appointment with my visiting teachers.

9am-10:30am:  Took out all trash, had play-date. (Something came up so our friends had to leave a bit earlier then planned.)

10:30am:  Folded last load of laundry and put away, let girls watch end of Sesame Street and have a snack.

11:00am:  Checked Facebook and Pinterest again while girls played together, made lunch, ate, cleaned up.

(I had left overs from the night before and I will say I was not sad to eat it again. It was cheesy broccoli and rice casserole, here is the link if your interested.)

Noon:  Got ready to go outside and play in the pool, went outside and let girls play, I read a bit, did some weeding in one of the flower beds.

1:25pm:  Literally ran inside from a swarm of bees by lilac bushes, since our outdoor fun was cut short I made the girls popcorn and let them watch a movie. (Once Spring and Summer hit we usually spend lots more time outside either playing around the yard or going to the park.)

2:45pm:  Put Olivia down for her nap and Savannah had quiet time, I worked on a project (I'm redoing a pair of lamps I bought at DI.)

4:00pm:  Savannah finished up quiet time and Jacob came home from work and we visited a bit.

4:30pm:  I started making dinner while Jacob and Savannah played together.

5:30pm: Olivia woke up and we ate dinner, cleaned up kitchen, talked to my mom on the phone and planned our trip to Maryland.

6:45pm: I left to go on my Tuesday night walk with my cousin Lynsie while Jacob stayed home with the girls and played.

7pm-8:30pm:  Went on 4 mile walk and headed home. (While I was gone Jacob got both girls ready for bed and they were both asleep when I got home.)

8:50pm: Got home finished cleaning up last few things around house and checked Facebook, email, and Pinterest again.

9pm-10pm: Watched Big Bang Theory( we're obsessed with the show and now own all 4 seasons on DVD) with Jacob and went to bed.

So there you go, this is a fairly typical day for me. Some things that were a bit uncommon are I don't typically have an hour to get ready in the morning uninterrupted and therefore I don't usually take a whole hour to get ready. If we don't have a play-date or errands to run in the morning then we're usually outside playing in the Spring and Summer. In the afternoon we're also usually outside longer and typically Olivia goes down for her nap closer to 2 then 3. I also started dinner later then I usually do,( I  make a menu every two or three weeks so I know what we're having to eat every night. On occasion I switch up what I have already planned but I go grocery shopping every two weeks so I know I have food to make what's on my menu for that time period). I also have set days to accomplish certain things. Monday and Friday are laundry day, every Tuesday night and Saturday morning I walk with Lynsie,  (this means Jacob takes over watching the girls while I'm gone during that time), and Wednesday's are usually the day we run all our errands. We also usually we have 1 or 2 play-dates during the week as well so we typically have something to do every day. Our normal routine at night is after we finish up dinner we have down time. We'll play with the girls, give baths, Jacob and I will visit, and we'll clean up the house before bedtime which is usually between 7:30/8pm. This way once the girls are in bed Jacob and I can have uninterrupted time together for about 2/3 hours every night depending on when we go to bed.  Usually we talk about our days if we haven't already had the chance, watch a show, or I'll work on a project while we watch something.

So there you have it, a typical day in the life of me. I know you all feel so much better knowing what I do most days. I actually really enjoyed writing down what I did in a day, I realized that I don't like how many times I check the internet in 1 day even though I don't feel like I'm on it for excessive amounts of time when I do check. Does that make sense? Anyway I want to only check when the girls aren't awake so either during nap/quiet time or once they've gone to bed. Anyway its nap and quite time right now so I'm off to work on my lamp project again:)
