Science Experiment

So Savannah and I did a science experiment last week and ever since she's been asking me when we can do it again. It also kept her occupied for at least half and hour if not longer which for her is saying something. I found the idea where else but on Pinterest. Its a VERY simple project and only requires 6 things which I bet you have around your house already.

Pan
Baking Soda
Food Coloring
White Vinegar
Cups/bowls
Spoon or other instrument to move liquid

You just pour however much baking soda you need to cover the bottom of your designated pan ( used a whole box for a 9x13), put white vinegar into your cups or bowls and add food coloring. Then you just need to mix the colors and start putting your mixture onto the baking soda. It will bubble and fizz and then finally settle down. Once we had used all our colors Savannah just sat there staring at the pan for quite some time just waiting to see if anything else would happen. I finally just had to take the pan away and wash it out so she'd move on to our next activity for the day. Like I said so easy and even Olivia thought it was fantastic. She needed help doing this activity and had to be closely watched because she kept trying to taste both the baking soda and vinegar. Overall it was one of the easiest projects we've done and one of the funnest.
