Swim Lessons
So where has the time gone?! Savannah will be 5 in September which I can't even believe, she has also grown up quite a bit over the last few months. She's such a little lady it just blows my mind sometimes. It also doesn't help that on Monday she started swim lessons, to say she was excited is quite an understatement! She woke up at 6:30 put on her swimsuit and told me she couldn't wait till it was time to get in the car. The poor thing had to wait till 10 for us to leave since her lessons don't start till 10:30. So far her lessons are going pretty good, she's happy with her progress and she's proud of herself. I've noticed that she's actually quite timid in class and I think she's a tad nervous, we'll see how she progresses over the 2 week session, she just might have to do one more session. It is so fun though to see how proud she is of her accomplishments and she really does have so much fun.
Magic Shoes
Olivia finally got her adorable pair of orthotics last week. It took us 5-6 weeks to finally get them but they were worth the wait. Olivia wears these everyday all day and they make such a difference in how confident she is with walking and running. I've also noticed that she doesn't' fall as much if at all while walking and running which is amazing because Olivia was so accident prone before. Since she has her new magic shoes we also had to get her some new pairs of shoes to fit over the buckles on the side. She was pretty excited about that, I mean what girl doesn't like new shoes after all. So far the transition to wearing them has been great and we haven't had any problems with her not wanting to wear them.
Accident
So Olivia had her first visit to urgent care and became my first child to require stitches a few weeks ago. Let me tell the story, it was a Tuesday morning and we were getting ready to head out to the library to see one of their summer activities that were going on. Savannah and I were ready and Olivia was in my room doing who knows what but suddenly I heard her screaming!!! When she came around the corner her hair on her forehead was covered in blood and it was starting to come down her nose. I tried my hardest to remain calm but I was a bit frantic trying to figure out what happened. I pulled her hair back and saw an oval shaped whole in her forehead and knew it wasn't good. We quickly scratched the idea about going to the library I asked Olivia what happened and she told me she hit her head on the corner of my bedroom dresser. I called her doctors office who said Urgent Care or the Emergency room were going to be good options for me since she would most likely need stitches. So off to Urgent Care we went, surprisingly we got back fairly fast and then waited forever to see the doctor. The funny part was that once we left the house Olivia stopped crying and just whimpered every now and then but pretty much acted normal for the most part. Once the doctor had a look she confirmed that Olivia did indeed need 2 or 3 stitches and that's where the fun began. The poor thing had to get shots to numb her forehead which she did fairly good with until the end. That's when she started crying and I started kicking myself for not bringing her blanket or a stuffed animal or something! When they went to put in the stitches Olivia freaked out and kept saying it hurt her even thought her head had to be so numb there is no way it could have been. I think she though it was more shots and was just done. After a few tries and Olivia crying the doctor decided to just tape her up really good. Either way she was going to end up with a scar and this way she wouldn't freak out as bad and be even more traumatized. We got to leave with this awesome huge band-aid on Olivia's forehead and every time we had to take it out we'd pull some of her hair off with it. Olivia was doing so well though afterwards that we kept her Occupational and Physical therapy appointments for the day. Needless to say all the happenings of the day whipped her out and she took a nap that afternoon which is so unlike my kids.
These last two shots were the next day, when we took her band-aid off we accidentally pulled some of the tape off with it so we had to run to the store to buy more. After a week she could take the tape off and stop wearing the band-aid. Everything is still healing and her scare is less noticeable every day thank goodness.

Quick Move
So at the beginning of the month we moved units in our duplex. Our old unit had 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and was a great fit for the 4 of us but with baby girl coming in August and our lease ending September 1st I was a bit stressed. I'm a pretty good organizer but I was kind of at a loss of how to fit a baby into our place and the thought of moving just a few short weeks after having a baby and then having the girls and Jacob in school was just too stressful. Then a beautiful thing happened. Our neighbors were moving out of the unit next door and that unit had 3 bedrooms. After talking with our landlord we agreed to just sign a new lease starting June 1st and we could move into the bigger space. They gave us the keys the end of May so we could slowly start moving stuff over and we agreed to be out of our unit by June 1st. In total I had a few days notice about the move and I moved most of the stuff over by myself during the week and then on the 1st Jacob and some guys from church moved all the big stuff that I couldn't pick up. I really didn't box anything up, I'd just fill up laundry baskets and carry them next door. I'd unpack what I took over and then do it all again. We are in love with our new unit and its amazing how much bigger it feels by just adding 1 room!
(All of the mess of "packing".)
(Our new living room.)
(Kitchen, complete with the new washer our landlord was putting in.)
(Master bedroom.)
(Savannah and Olivia's room.)
(Hall bathroom.)
(A horrible picture of the extra/baby room.)
(Master bath complete with a candid pic of me looking my best.)
If you know me then you know our house was pretty much all put together within 2 days of moving in. I took my time this time though with putting up pictures and Jacob kind of dragged his feel about hanging up the curtains for me in the living room and kitchen. Now that we're all settled I'll have to take some after shots. We still have some things that will change, like when my parents come out in August they're bringing out a set of bunk beds for the girls so their room will look different and I'm still putting together the babies room but I have gotten her some fantastic new sheets and a fun new baby bumper. All in all I'm more then ecstatic we moved when we did and got this unit especially since we like our landlord and the rent increase wasn't horrible.

The Baker's
So this past week we were super lucky to have our good friends the Baker's come down for a visit. We've been friends for 3 years now I think and I couldn't ask for a better friend. Her kids are adorable and get along great with mine so its a perfect combination really. We were too busy having so much fun that I didn't get a lot of pictures taken during their visit but these ones of our squirt gun time are priceless.
(Poor Olivia was not a fan of how cold the water was when we first started.)
(Oren was content to stay on the porch with Olivia, also that nice scratch on his face happened the second day they were here. Poor thing ran into the corner of a door.)
(This picture cracks me up and is perfect for Donaven, he is hilarious!)
(So Savannah.)
(All done and time to dry off.)
Savannah cried on and off all day yesterday saying how much she missed Donaven, JaNeil, and baby Oren. I don't know when we'll get to see them again but I hope it isn't too long before our next visit cause we sure do love this family!
Family Time
So the first weekend of the month we made a quick trip down to Jacob's brothers. We always have a blast when we go visit and we've really enjoyed getting to know Jeff and Anne and their kids better. I also love watching all the kids play together, they typically play really well together which just makes me so happy. When we were visiting the temperature was around 108 so we definitely had some outdoor time of playing in the kid pool and making sand castles.

Family Night
So I forgot to post these pictures from when my brother Jordan came to visit. We decided to go on an outing on Family Night and the lake seemed like the perfect choice. The girls had been asking to go since we moved here and it was such a beautiful evening that it was just perfect.
The girls loved looking into the water, throwing rocks, and of course watching all the ducks. They tried so hard to stand still to see how close the ducks would come to them. Overall it was just a fun time being together and hanging out.
(I love that the lake is only like 10 minutes from our house)
(Both the girls wanted to look over the dock so bad so we had to make sure we had a good hold on both girls.)
